Personal Assistant Caregiver

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant Caregiver to provide comprehensive support to individuals requiring assistance with daily activities and personal care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care, home health, or long-term care environments, demonstrating exceptional patience, empathy, and attention to detail. This role involves assisting clients with their personal needs, ensuring their safety and comfort while promoting independence and well-being. The successful applicant will be committed to delivering high-quality care in accordance with care plans and regulatory standards.

Duties

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, patient observations, and changes in health status to inform care planning.
  • Provide medication reminders accurately following prescribed instructions while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Support clients with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met and dietary restrictions are followed.
  • Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers safely to prevent injury.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks and adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Observe clients for signs of dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other cognitive impairments, implementing memory care strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and update personalized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a positive living environment for residents.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards including CPR and first aid procedures during emergencies.

Experience

  • Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care settings is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and dementia or Alzheimer's care is essential.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders.
  • Experience utilizing care plans and medication administration protocols within regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
  • Hands-on experience operating medical lifts such as Hoyer lifts and performing heavy lifting when necessary.
  • Strong background in providing compassionate direct support and long-term caregiving services across diverse populations.

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
