Personal Assistant Caregiver

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities. Duties

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status or behavior
  • Administer medications accurately according to care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
  • Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or transfer belts to safely move clients with mobility challenges
  • Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities, observations, and medication administration
  • Support clients with dementia or Alzheimer’s by implementing memory care strategies and providing emotional reassurance
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and follow personalized care plans
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being and social engagement

Skills

  • Proven experience in home health, assisted living, or long-term care environments
  • Knowledge of first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures
  • Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or dementia-related conditions
  • Ability to accurately monitor vital signs and recognize signs of medical distress
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards
  • Experience with medication administration and managing care plans
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with transfers using Hoyer lifts or similar equipment
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Compassionate demeanor combined with a proactive approach to safety and patient comfort
