Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities. This vital role involves working closely with clients to promote independence, safety, and well-being within their homes or community settings. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and document patient observations, vital signs, and overall health status to ensure safety and well-being
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and preferences, supporting proper nutrition and hydration
- Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality and compliance
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs to facilitate safe transfers and mobility
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces
- Support clients during outings or community activities to promote social engagement and independence
Qualifications
- Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training preferred; ongoing training encouraged
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks when necessary
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in health or behavior
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are preferred for community outings or appointments
