Personal Assistant Caregiver

Overview
Care With Love, LLC, in Winchester, VA, is a Quality Senior Home Care and Home Health Agency located downtown next to The Handley Library at 116 West Piccadilly St., Suite 1, Winchester, VA 22601.

We are looking to hire at least (5) Personal Care Assistants in each of our service areas, which include: Winchester City, Fred. Co., Warren Co., Clarke Co., Shenandoah Co., and Loudoun Co. to Leesburg, VA.

THESE ARE PRN (as needed) EMPLOYMENT POSITIONS, and SHIFTS ARE NOT GUARANTEED. It is possible to match with a client and pick up to as much as 40+ hours with overtime in some cases. YOU CHOOSE YOUR SCHEDULE! YOU PICK UP SHIFTS ACCORDING TO YOUR AVAILABILITY! We also have ON-CALL positions for last-minute needs if you're interested.

PCA with physical copy of PCA Certificate: $16/hr.

PCA without proof: $15/hr.

COMPANION CAREGIVERS: $13-$14/hr. Depending on experience and references.

As a Personal Assistant Caregiver, you will be instrumental in promoting independence, dignity, and well-being for those under your care, whether in their homes or community settings. Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor patient health by checking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition or behavior
  • Administer medication as prescribed, ensuring compliance with care plans and HIPAA regulations
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking
  • Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to safely transfer clients with mobility challenges
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, patient observations, and any incidents in compliance with privacy standards
  • Support clients’ emotional well-being through companionship, active listening, and engaging activities
  • Perform light cleaning duties to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for clients
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement personalized care plans and update progress reports
  • Provide transportation for medical appointments or community outings when necessary

Skills

  • Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings with a focus on senior or disability care
  • Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, memory care, autism spectrum disorder, and other developmental disabilities
  • Certified in CPR and First Aid; familiarity with emergency response procedures
  • Strong patient observation skills to detect changes in condition or behavior promptly
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using appropriate techniques or equipment such as Hoyer lifts
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with healthcare teams and family members
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of patient information
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities or special needs
  • Ability to follow detailed care plans while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changing needs

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
