Personal Assistant/Caregiver

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant/Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring assistance due to age, disability, or health conditions. You will be responsible for ensuring safety, comfort, and quality of life for your clients while fostering a warm and respectful environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor patients’ health by checking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition
  • Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
  • Support clients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices; perform heavy lifting as required
  • Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, patient observations, and any incidents or changes in condition
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment in compliance with health standards
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being
  • Follow all safety protocols including first aid, CPR certification, and emergency procedures
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement personalized care plans for residents or clients

Experience

  • Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous
  • Hands-on experience with patient observation, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and patient monitoring techniques
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of patient information
  • Experience performing caregiving duties such as assisting with ADLs, meal preparation, and light cleaning tasks
  • Knowledge of safety procedures including first aid and CPR certification is required
  • Long-term care experience that includes working with seniors or individuals with disabilities will be considered a strong asset
