Personal Care Assistant

Job Overview
Join our compassionate team as a Personal Care Assistant, where you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals requiring support with daily activities and personal care. Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
  • Monitor and observe patients’ health status, noting changes in condition or behavior and reporting findings accurately.
  • Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet individual dietary needs.
  • Operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers to ensure client safety during movement.
  • Maintain a clean environment by performing light housekeeping tasks like cleaning patient areas and laundry.
  • Document patient care activities thoroughly in compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a positive atmosphere for clients with dementia, Alzheimer's, or developmental disabilities.
  • Follow safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures to respond effectively during emergencies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans tailored to each individual’s needs.

Experience

  • Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with patient observation, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and care planning.
  • Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia, or memory care needs is highly valued.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information.
  • Experience using mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively when assisting clients.

Pay: $12.00 - $12.50 per hour
