- Assist attorneys with case preparation, including gathering evidence, organizing medical records, and managing case files using legal case management systems such as PCLaw and iManage
- Conduct detailed legal research across various practice areas including personal injury law, workers’ compensation law, and other relevant fields like family law or landlord-tenant law as needed
- Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and correspondence with clients and opposing counsel
- Interview clients, witnesses, and experts to gather pertinent information for case development
- Manage document review processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness while maintaining organized files in document management systems like Westlaw or LexisNexis
- Support litigation activities by preparing trial exhibits, timelines, and summaries while assisting with court filings and deadlines
- Provide administrative support including data entry, proofreading legal documents, transcribing interviews or depositions, and handling clerical tasks such as filing and phone etiquette
Experience
- Paralegal experience in personal injury law is required; familiarity with other practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, or securities law is a plus
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases efficiently with strong project management skills
- Experience using legal research tools like Westlaw or LexisNexis to conduct comprehensive case law searches
- Proficiency with legal administrative software including PCLaw, iManage, and document management systems
- Excellent writing skills for drafting clear legal documents and correspondence
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated research capabilities and attention to detail in document review and proofreading tasks
