Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Personal Injury Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support to attorneys handling personal injury cases, ensuring smooth case progression from inception through resolution. Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with case preparation, including drafting pleadings, discovery requests, and settlement documents
- Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case strategies
- Manage and organize case files using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw
- Interview clients, witnesses, and experts to gather pertinent information for personal injury claims
- Review and analyze medical records, accident reports, and insurance documents for accuracy and relevance
- Draft detailed legal correspondence, summaries, and reports to facilitate case progression
- Coordinate with medical providers, insurance companies, and external agencies to ensure timely communication and documentation
Skills
- Proven paralegal experience with a focus on personal injury law or related litigation fields
- Strong knowledge of legal administrative processes including document review, filing, and data entry
- Excellent research skills utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal databases
- Proficiency in legal case management software such as PCLaw and iManage
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Effective interviewing and communication skills for client and witness interactions
- Familiarity with legal drafting, proofreading, transcription, and contract review processes
- Knowledge of relevant laws including Workers' Compensation Law, Landlord-Tenant Law, Family Law, Tribal Law & Regulations, Securities Law, Patent Law, UCC Law, Environmental Law, Immigration Law, Estate Planning, Litigation procedures and UCC law
- Ability to handle administrative tasks such as filing, document management systems operation, and clerical support efficiently
- Strong phone etiquette combined with professional organizational skills to support a busy law office environment
