This position requires strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Our Personal Injury Receptionist/Paralegal will work closely with clients, attorneys, and other staff members to ensure that all aspects of case management are handled effectively. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated to join our law firm. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in answering calls, opening new case files, communicating with clients and insurance companies to open new case files.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-3 years experience in Personal Injury law
- Ability to manage workload, juggle multiple activities, and work under pressure in a fast-paced office setting with a positive attitude
- Excellent secretarial and organization skills
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, have attention to detail, and interact well with clients
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Case management experience from intake and pre-litigation
- Paralegal certificate from an accredited program, a plus but not required
- Fluency in Spanish a plus
Responsibilities
- Familiarity with plaintiff’s personal injury pre-litigation in all phases of case opening
- Contact Insurance companies to get claim numbers and open new claims.
- Prepare and submit PIP applications and submit new claim forms.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, insurance adjusters, medical offices, and more
- Obtain/document outstanding medical, Medicare, WC, and other liens
- Organize client file, track progress, and communicate with clients
- Manage and maintain new case files, ensuring materials are organized, accessible, and up to date with regular client contact
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of the legal profession in all interactions and tasks
