The Personal Training Manager (PTM) leads the personal training department and is responsible for driving team performance, improving client outcomes, and creating a high-accountability, high-results culture. This position ensures that all trainers are meeting expectations in session delivery, kickoff execution, and retention while maintaining an inspiring and disciplined training environment. The PTM is a leadership force that sets the tone for department excellence and member experience.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Culture
- Lead, mentor, and hold all trainers accountable to high performance and professionalism.
- Conduct daily check-ins, team huddles, and one-on-one coaching sessions.
- Reinforce team culture, work ethic, urgency, and client-first mentality.
- Plan and run regular team workouts and training sessions to build unity and skill.
Onboarding & Development
- Train new trainers on the full Crunch sales system and kickoff process.
- Assign shadows, conduct roleplays, and ensure readiness within 30 days.
- Continuously retrain team on sales scripts, weak points, and conversion best practices.
- Support new hire test-outs and ensure proper knowledge transfer.
Sales & KPI Management
- Track and post all key performance indicators: kickoffs booked, show rates, conversions, and renewals.
- Pull and review daily VFP and session reports for performance insights.
ENCOURAGE | EMPOWER | ENTERTAIN
- Identify low-performance trends and implement recovery plans.
- Strategize around weak days or times to improve department output.
Client Experience & Retention
- Monitor client satisfaction and outcomes; review and audit programming quality.
- Ensure rebooking expectations are met and attrition remains low.
- Intervene when trainers underperform in client results or cultural standards.
- Handle escalated client issues regarding personal training services.
Operations & Administration
- Manage trainer schedules, floor hours, time-off requests, and session tracking.
- Ensure accurate logging of sessions for payroll and performance.
- Deliver payroll inputs and compliance logs to GM or payroll manager on time.
- Oversee trainer floor presence, session flow, and lead generation activity.
Communication & Collaboration
- Report weekly team performance and risk areas to General Manager and Regional Manager.
- Align with GMs on club-level goals, campaigns, and staffing needs.
- Coordinate with front desk and membership teams to ensure kickoff coverage and lead flow.
- Communicate openly and consistently to ensure transparency, alignment, and trust.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
