Position Summary

The Pest Control Supervisor is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing a team of Pest Control Technicians. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and safe pest management services that exceed client expectations. The supervisor will blend hands-on technical work with team management, coaching, scheduling, and quality assurance duties. This role is critical in maintaining our company's reputation for excellence and ensuring operational goals are met.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management (40%)

• Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of Pest Control Technicians.
• Conduct regular team meetings and one-on-one coaching sessions.
• Perform field training and ride-alongs to ensure technical proficiency and adherence to company standards.
• Manage team schedules, assign routes, and dispatch technicians efficiently.
• Foster a positive, safe, and collaborative team environment.

Quality Assurance & Technical Expertise (30%)

• Perform regular quality control inspections of client properties to ensure service effectiveness.
• Handle escalated or complex pest issues personally, providing expert diagnosis and treatment.
• Ensure all services comply with company protocols, safety standards, and federal/state/local regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA, DOT).
• Audit technician paperwork, service reports, and recommendations for accuracy and completeness.
• Serve as the technical expert and point of contact for difficult client situations.

Operations & Administration (20%)

• Monitor inventory levels of chemicals and equipment; place orders as needed.
• Review and approve technician timesheets and expense reports.
• Assist in the recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of new technicians.
• Contribute to performance reviews and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
• Ensure all company vehicles are properly maintained and stocked.

Customer Service & Sales Support (10%)

• Address and resolve customer complaints and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Conduct initial inspections and provide quotes for potential new clients.
• Identify opportunities for additional services (upselling) and educate clients on preventive measures.

Qualifications and Requirements

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Pest Control Technician.
• Valid state-issued Pest Control Applicator License/Certification (e.g., IPM A Grade ).
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Proven leadership experience or demonstrated potential (e.g., lead technician, trainer role).
• In-depth knowledge of IPM (Integrated Pest Management) principles, chemicals, application techniques, and safety protocols.
• Exceptional problem-solving and customer relations skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to multitask effectively.
• Proficient with smartphones, tablets, and routing/software applications.

Preferred:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Agriculture, Biology, Business).
• State Certification in multiple categories (e.g., Termite, Mosquito, Fumigation).
• Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role within the pest control industry.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
• Frequent kneeling, bending, crawling, and climbing to inspect and treat structures.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends or evenings for emergency calls.
