Job Description: Do you love animals? Do you live in the Cypress (77429) area? If you answered yes to those two things, you may be perfect for a role at Scallywags Petcare as a Pet-Sitter! We are seeking someone who wants to provide high quality care for pets when their owners are out of town, working, or otherwise unable to do so. Successful candidates are responsible for exercising, feeding, administering medication and cleaning up after pets of all types, as well as ensuring their safety and well-being. Our pet-sitting service strives to provide high-level pet care while offering our employees a flexible schedule, independence and training in animal behavior.

Job responsibilities:

· Providing the owner with regular updates through our pet care app, that include pictures and detailed descriptions of visit

· Communicating with the pet owner through app, in person and on phone

· Exercising pets, either in the form of dog walks or playing with toys

· Providing food and water as directed by the pet owner

· Administering medications and supplements as directed by pet owner

· Changing litter boxes or otherwise cleaning up after the pet

· Maintain general cleanliness in clients house (don’t track in mud, leave pet supplies everywhere, etc.)

· Overseeing the pet to ensure optimal safety

· Completing minor housekeeping tasks, such as watering plants, bringing in mail or taking out the trash.

· Maintain great customer relationships

Job Skills & Qualifications:

· Must love animals

· Must have working cellphone

· Have a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license

· Ability to work varying schedules

· Must have flexible schedule— able to work primarily morning, afternoons, and some evenings and weekends

· Ability to handle multiple dogs of various sizes at once with care and compassion

· Must be dependable and punctual

· Great time management skills

· Excellent communication skills

· Cannot be allergic to animal hair or any cleaning products

· Must be able to work on feet for long periods of time

· Must be at least 18 years of age

· Willingness to drive to pet sitting assignments up to 30 miles from home

· Trustworthy, detail oriented, reliable, and able to work independently

· Strong customer services skills to interact with pet owners effectively and maintain relationships

Preferred:

· Previous experience with cats and dogs

· Ability to work during weekends and holidays

Why this job might not be for you:

· There are no guaranteed hours, and your schedule will change from week to week, often with little notice from our clients

· We go to the client’s home, so you will be expected to drive your own vehicle to each pet sitting visit.

· We work in all outdoor weather, including rain, heat, cold, etc.
