Dog Walker/Over night Pet Sitter

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Walker and overnight pet sitter to join our team. Must live in Saratoga County!

The ideal candidate must have prior experience working with animals and will have a love for animals and a commitment to providing exceptional care for our furry clients, as well as have availability for both overnights and drop-ins.

As a Dog Walker and pet sitter, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of dogs during their walks and stays, while also providing companionship and exercise.

This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy spending time outdoors and have experience in pet care.

Our clients are all around Saratoga county from Saratoga, to Burnthills, to Galway. Candidate must be willing to travel to job sites.

Responsibilities
- Walk dogs on scheduled routes, ensuring they receive adequate exercise and mental stimulation.
- Monitor the behavior and health of each dog during walks, reporting any concerns to the owner.
- Maintain control of dogs at all times, using proper handling techniques to ensure safety.
- Provide fresh water and basic care as needed before and after walks.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog's behavior and needs.
- Keep records of each walk, including duration, distance, and any notable observations.
- Assist with pet grooming or bathing if required by the owner.
- Be available for additional services such as pet sitting or kennel care when needed.

-Provide overnight care for pets, including feeding, walking, and administering medications as needed.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of pets during their time under your care.
- Maintain a clean environment by cleaning up after pets and following hygiene protocols.
- Engage with pets through playtime and exercise to promote their physical and mental well-being.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pet's behavior, health, and any concerns that may arise.
- Provide basic grooming services as needed, such as brushing or bathing pets.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, such as moving large pet supplies or equipment.

Requirements
- Most scheduled walks are from 10 a.m - 3 p.m
- Overnight care is from 6 p.m - 6 a.m

This is not a short term seasonal job! We pride ourselves on personability with our clients, and their pets. This job will require you to build trust with cliental and can start off slow while you build trust with current clients.

Skills
- Experience in pet care, including dog walking or pet sitting is a must
- Familiarity with pet grooming techniques is a plus.
- Background as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting large dogs).
- A genuine love for animals and a strong sense of responsibility towards their well-being.
