PGT Biology Teacher

Job Title: Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) – Biology

Reports To: Head of Department / Principal
Job Summary:

The PGT Biology Teacher is responsible for teaching Biology to senior secondary students (Classes XI–XII), focusing on conceptual understanding, practical laboratory skills, and preparation for board and competitive examinations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver Biology lessons as per the prescribed curriculum (CBSE / ICSE / State Board, as applicable).
• Teach Botany and Zoology topics with clarity and depth.
• Conduct Biology laboratory practicals, experiments, and demonstrations following safety and ethical guidelines.
• Prepare students for internal assessments, practical exams, and board examinations.
• Set question papers, evaluate answer scripts, and maintain academic records.
• Use innovative teaching methods, digital tools, models, and visual aids to enhance learning.
• Provide remedial teaching, doubt-clearing sessions, and academic support to students.
• Maintain discipline and a positive, safe learning environment in classrooms and laboratories.
• Guide students in projects, research work, and biology-related activities.
• Participate in curriculum planning, academic meetings, workshops, and training programs.
• Take up additional responsibilities such as class teacher duties, exam invigilation, and school events.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Educational Qualification:
• Master’s Degree in Biology / Life Sciences / Botany / Zoology
• B.Ed. (Mandatory)
• Experience:
• Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience at senior secondary level preferred
• Experience handling board examination classes is an added advantage

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong subject knowledge in Biology (Botany & Zoology).
• Ability to explain complex biological concepts clearly.
• Practical experience in laboratory work and specimen handling.
• Effective classroom management and student mentoring skills.
• Proficiency in using digital teaching tools and smart classroom technology.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
