PGT Economics Teacher

Job Title: Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) – Economics
Department: Academics
Reports To: Head of Department / Principal
Job Summary:

The PGT Economics Teacher is responsible for teaching Economics to senior secondary students (Classes XI–XII), with emphasis on conceptual clarity, application of economic theories, data interpretation, and preparation for board and competitive examinations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver Economics lessons as per the prescribed curriculum (CBSE / ICSE / State Board, as applicable).
• Teach Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Statistics for Economics, and Indian Economic Development.
• Develop students’ analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Prepare students for internal assessments, projects, practical/statistical work, and board examinations.
• Set question papers, evaluate answer scripts, and maintain academic and performance records.
• Guide students in project work, data analysis, and economic case studies.
• Use innovative teaching methods, real-world examples, ICT tools, and smart classroom resources.
• Provide remedial teaching and academic support where required.
• Maintain classroom discipline and a positive learning environment.
• Participate in curriculum planning, academic meetings, workshops, and professional development programs.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding students’ academic progress.
• Take additional responsibilities such as class teacher duties, exam invigilation, and school activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Educational Qualification:
• Master’s Degree in Economics
• B.Ed. (Mandatory)
• Experience:
• Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience at senior secondary level preferred
• Experience handling board examination classes is an added advantage

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
