The PGT English teacher is responsible for teaching English to students of classes 11–12 (and sometimes 9–10, based on school requirements). The role includes developing students’ language proficiency, literary appreciation, critical thinking, and communication skills while ensuring curriculum completion and academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach English Language and Literature as per the prescribed curriculum.
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, and learning materials that are engaging and effective.
  • Foster strong reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills in students.
  • Conduct lectures, discussions, poetry/novel analysis, grammar sessions, and writing workshops.
  • Assess student performance through tests, assignments, presentations, and examinations.
  • Maintain accurate and updated records of student progress.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and guide them in improving their academic performance.
  • Prepare students for board exams and competitive entrance tests when required.
  • Use technology and smart-class tools to enhance classroom teaching.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, workshops, and school events.
  • Encourage students to participate in debates, literary clubs, dramatics, and creative writing activities.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and ensure a positive learning environment.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Master’s Degree in English
  • B.Ed. or equivalent professional teaching qualification.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience (preferred, but fresh postgraduates may apply depending on school policy).
  • Strong command of English grammar, vocabulary, and literature.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to guide students in creative writing, critical analysis, and exam preparation.
  • Familiarity with CBSE/ICSE/State Board curriculum.

Additional Requirements (Optional)

  • Experience in conducting literary events and competitions.
  • Knowledge of NEP norms, modern teaching methodologies, and digital tools.
  • Passion for student development and holistic education.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,023.08 - ₹40,000.58 per month
