PGT Psychology Teacher - Role Description

A PGT Psychology Teacher is a qualified educator responsible for teaching Psychology at the senior secondary level (Classes 11 and 12) in schools affiliated with national or state boards (such as CBSE/ICSE). The teacher develops students' understanding of psychological concepts, theories, and applications, while fostering critical thinking, empathy, and research skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Psychology curriculum as per the prescribed syllabus (e.g., CBSE/ICSE/State Board).
  • Prepare and deliver engaging, concept-based lessons using a variety of teaching methods.
  • Design and conduct formative and summative assessments, including practicals.
  • Guide students in psychological experiments and project work.
  • Promote mental health awareness and emotional intelligence among students.
  • Provide academic support and career guidance related to Psychology.
  • Maintain records of student progress, attendance, and behavioral observations.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and participate in school events, workshops, and staff meetings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology from a recognized university.
  • B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) or equivalent teaching qualification (as per school board norms).
  • Minimum 2-5 years of teaching experience at the senior secondary level is preferred.
  • Strong command over English (or medium of instruction) and good classroom management skills.

Job Type: Full-time
