Role Overview
The PGT Social Science / Psychology is responsible for delivering concept-driven, engaging instruction in Social Science and/or Psychology to senior secondary students. The teacher will foster critical thinking, analytical skills, social awareness, and emotional intelligence, in alignment with CBSE curriculum and assessment standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic & Teaching
- Plan, prepare, and deliver effective lessons for Classes IX–XII (Social Science) and XI–XII (Psychology) as per CBSE guidelines.
- Develop lesson plans, worksheets, presentations, case studies, and activities to enhance conceptual understanding.
- Integrate current affairs, social issues, real-life examples, and psychological applications into classroom teaching.
- Encourage inquiry-based learning, discussion, and critical thinking.
Assessment & Examination
- Conduct regular assessments, projects, practicals (Psychology), and internal evaluations.
- Prepare students for Board Examinations, ensuring timely syllabus completion and structured revision.
- Evaluate answer sheets and maintain accurate academic records as per CBSE norms.
- Update student performance data in the ERP system.
Student Mentoring & Development
- Guide students in understanding social responsibility, ethics, mental well-being, and interpersonal skills.
- Support students in projects, research work, seminars, debates, and exhibitions.
- Provide academic and emotional guidance to help students manage stress and improve learning outcomes.
Classroom Management & Discipline
- Maintain a disciplined, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
- Encourage positive behaviour, participation, and collaboration among students.
- Ensure adherence to school policies and code of conduct.
Institutional & Co-Curricular Duties
- Participate in school events, assemblies, workshops, and professional development programs.
- Assist in organizing awareness programs, counselling sessions, social science exhibitions, and clubs.
- Collaborate with colleagues and coordinators for curriculum planning and interdisciplinary activities.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Post-Graduate Degree in Social Science / Psychology from a recognized university.
- B.Ed. mandatory (as per CBSE norms).
- 3–5 years of teaching experience at secondary/senior secondary level preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CBSE syllabus, pedagogy, and evaluation methods.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to connect theory with real-life social and psychological contexts.
- Proficiency in digital tools and ERP-based academic management systems.
