Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Management:
- Plan, source, and procure pharmaceuticals, surgical consumables, and ophthalmic products.
- Identify and negotiate with suppliers to ensure cost-effective and quality procurement.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid stock-outs or overstocking.
- Vendor Management:
- Develop and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical companies, distributors, and vendors.
- Evaluate supplier performance and ensure adherence to contractual terms and service levels.
- Conduct market analysis to identify new suppliers and competitive pricing.
- Inventory & Supply Chain Control:
- Coordinate with the pharmacy, OT, and stores for timely replenishment of drugs and materials.
- Implement efficient inventory management systems to minimize wastage and expiry.
- Ensure compliance with FIFO/FEFO principles.
- Regulatory & Quality Compliance:
- Ensure procurement processes comply with hospital policies, Drug Control regulations, and NABH/NABL standards.
- Maintain records of purchase orders, licenses, and batch details for audit and traceability.
- Liaise with the Quality Assurance team for product verification and complaint resolution.
- Financial Oversight:
- Prepare and manage the annual purchase budget for pharmaceuticals and consumables.
- Track expenditure, analyze cost trends, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Verify supplier bills and coordinate with the finance department for timely payments.
- Coordination & Reporting:
- Work closely with clinical departments to forecast demand and understand product specifications.
- Generate periodic reports on purchase status, consumption, and vendor performance.
- Participate in hospital procurement committee meetings and policy formulation.
