Key Responsibilities:
- Dispensing & Prescription Review
- Accurately dispense medications as per the prescription.
- Review prescriptions for appropriateness, potential drug interactions, and dosage accuracy.
- Clarify any ambiguities with the prescribing doctor if necessary.
- Patient Counseling
- Provide clear instructions on dosage, usage, side effects, and storage of medications.
- Educate patients on the importance of medication adherence.
- Inventory & Storage Management
- Maintain optimum stock levels and check expiry dates regularly.
- Ensure safe and proper storage of medicines as per norms.
- Maintain records of inward and outward medicine movement.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Adhere to hospital protocols and statutory pharmacy regulations.
- Maintain necessary documentation as required by the Drug Control Authority.
- Ensure proper billing and record-keeping.
- Quality Assurance
- Participate in internal audits and quality improvement programs.
- Ensure that high standards of cleanliness and safety are maintained in the pharmacy.
- Team Collaboration
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff.
- Provide drug information support to healthcare professionals.
Qualifications:
- Educational Qualification: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (D.Pharm / B.Pharm)
- Licensure: Valid Kerala State Pharmacy Council Registration
- Experience: Minimum 2 years
