Job Title: PharmacistJob Summary:
The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing prescription medications to patients accurately and safely, providing expert advice on the use of medicines, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The role involves reviewing prescriptions, monitoring patient health, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and review for therapeutic compatibility and legal compliance.
- Provide counseling to patients on proper medication use, side effects, dosage, storage, and interactions.
- Review prescriptions to ensure correctness, legality, and appropriate therapeutic use.
- Monitor patient health and progress, advising on lifestyle and health matters where appropriate.
- Maintain and manage inventory of medicines and pharmaceutical supplies.
- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, ethical guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective treatment plans.
- Keep accurate records of prescriptions, controlled substances, and patient interactions.
- Stay updated on new pharmaceutical products, medical research, and industry regulations.
- Supervise and guide pharmacy technicians and assistants in daily operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm / Pharm.D) degree.
- Valid pharmacist license issued by the relevant regulatory authority.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and pharmaceutical ethics.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
Work Environment:
- Community pharmacy, hospital, or clinical setting.
- May require evening, weekend, or on-call shifts depending on the workplace.
