Pharmacist – Job Role & Responsibilities
Primary Role:
To ensure safe, accurate, and ethical dispensing of medicines while maintaining regulatory compliance, stock management, and patient support.
To manage accurate billing, cash handling, and software entries while maintaining smooth patient flow.
Reporting To: Pharmacy Manager
Daily Responsibilities:
- Dispensing medicines as per prescription with 100% accuracy.
- Checking dosage, strength, brand, batch number, expiry before issuing.
- Billing through software and ensuring correct entries.
- Providing basic counselling to patients regarding dosage and usage.
- Maintaining shelves, cleanliness, and arrangement of medicines. (as and when required)
- Ensuring cold-chain medicines are handled properly.
- Implementing FIFO in all racks. Also follow LASA policy.
- Purchase Order generation
- Managing ward/OT indents and ensuring timely supply.
- Handling expiries, non-moving stock and purchase returns as per policy.
- Managing returns and issuing credit notes as per policy.
- Updating stock in billing software.
- Reporting daily billing summary to store manager.
- Verifying bill mismatches and correcting errors.
- Maintaining outstanding payment reports (if applicable).
- Verifying and recording daily cash scroll data.
- Updating purchase entries (as and when required)
Weekly/Monthly Responsibilities:
- Conducting expiry audits.
- Preparing reorder list and shortage list.
- Verifying stock mismatch and reporting discrepancies.
- Coordinating with suppliers for pending items and any differences in invoices.
- Participating in stock-taking.
- Scheduled drugs list and stock update
- Supporting stock audits.
- Locating expiry / near-expiry stock and claim to respective suppliers
Regulatory & Compliance:
- Maintaining Schedule H, H1, Narcotics register (if applicable).
- Ensuring prescriptions are valid.
- Reporting any suspicious prescription to the manager.
- Following FDA/Maharashtra Pharmacy Council rules.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
