Key Responsibilities
Dispensing & Patient Care
- Dispense medicines accurately against valid prescriptions for OPD and IPD patients.
- Ensure correct dosage, route, frequency, and duration of medications.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, storage, and compliance.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Inventory & Store Management
- Maintain adequate stock levels of medicines, emergency drugs, and consumables.
- Monitor expiry dates, batch numbers, and storage conditions.
- Follow FEFO (First Expiry First Out) / FIFO practices.
- Maintain drug storage as per temperature and safety guidelines.
Documentation & Records
- Maintain daily drug issue registers and stock registers.
- Maintain narcotic and psychotropic drug records as per NDPS Act.
- Maintain refrigerator temperature logs and daily checklist.
- Ensure proper documentation for high-risk and LASA (Look-Alike Sound-Alike) medicines.
Quality & NABH Compliance
- Follow hospital SOPs, pharmacy policies, and NABH standards.
- Participate in internal audits and corrective action implementation.
- Report medication errors, near misses, and adverse drug reactions (ADR).
- Ensure segregation and disposal of expired/damaged medicines.
Coordination & Support
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and stores for medication requirements.
- Assist in drug procurement, vendor coordination, and GRN verification.
- Support emergency services by ensuring availability of life-saving drugs.
Statutory & Safety Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Drugs & Cosmetics Act and Pharmacy Act.
- Maintain valid pharmacy license and display as per statutory norms.
- Adhere to infection control and biomedical waste management protocols.
Qualification & Experience
- Qualification:
- D.Pharm / B.Pharm (Registered with State Pharmacy Council)
- Experience:
- 1-3 years (Hospital experience preferred)
