Specialized Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a qualified
Inpatient Pharmacist
to join its pharmacy team. The organization is committed to delivering safe, effective, and patient‑centered care in alignment with Department of Health (DOH) regulations and international quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Independently review physicians’ medication orders to ensure accuracy of
dose, frequency, duration, and appropriateness
prior to dispensing.

Intervene and communicate with prescribers to clarify prescriptions and resolve issues related to
drug–drug/food interactions, allergies, contraindications, or dosing errors
.

Participate in
multidisciplinary clinical rounds
and review patient medical files to optimize medication therapy outcomes.

Perform
dose adjustments
for patients with
renal impairment, hepatic dysfunction, and pediatric populations
.
-
Dispense
controlled and semi‑controlled medications
in accordance with
DOH regulations
and hospital pharmacy policies.
-
Compound
sterile and non‑sterile pharmaceutical preparations
following approved procedures and aseptic standards.
-
Provide
medication counseling
to patients and respond to medication‑related inquiries from physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
-
Supervise and support
pharmacy technicians and support staff
to ensure compliance with best practices.
-
Ensure proper
handling, storage, and labeling
of medications, including
high‑alert, LASA medications, and concentrated electrolytes
.
-
Maintain pharmacy inventory by monitoring stock levels, reporting shortages, and reducing wastage by prioritizing
near‑expiry medications
.

Prepare and maintain
ward/floor stock medications
and distribute them to inpatient units as required.
-
Participate in
monthly inspections
of medication rooms, nursing cabinets, and crash carts.

Contribute to
quality improvement initiatives
, data collection for KPIs, and preparation of monthly quality reports.
-
Report
medication incidents, near misses, and adverse drug events
in accordance with hospital policies.

Participate in
hospital committees
, staff trainings, nursing orientations, and support
DOH and JCI inspections and accreditation activities
.
-
Comply with all
occupational health & safety, infection control
, and hospital policies.
-
Be available
on‑call for pharmacy emergencies
as required.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Pharmacy
-
Valid DOH (HAAD) Pharmacist License – Abu Dhabi
-
Minimum
2 years of experience as a licensed pharmacist

Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
is preferred
-
Strong knowledge of
medication safety, clinical pharmacy practices, and DOH regulations
-
Excellent communication and clinical collaboration skills
-
Proficiency in
English

bilingual (Arabic/English)
is an advantage
