Summary:
This position supports the UCHealth Specialty Pharmacy Patient Management Program (PMP) and Specialty Pharmacy Prior Authorization Center (SP-PAC). The Clinical Pharmacist provides clinical oversight for patients receiving specialty medications prescribed within UCHealth and supports medication access through prior authorization review and coordination. Care is delivered via telephone/telehealth across the UCHealth enterprise and focuses on patient education, therapy monitoring, and collaboration with providers and pharmacy teams to ensure safe and timely medication access.
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school of Pharmacy.

State licensure as a Pharmacist and any relevant life support certification as determined at position level.
Preferred:
-
Experience in specialty pharmacy, ambulatory care, or prior authorization review.

PGY1 residency training.

Certified Specialty Pharmacist (CSP) or Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) certification.

Epic electronic health record experience.
-
Telehealth or call-center experience.

Clinical Pharmacist:

Provide clinical assessment, education, and therapy monitoring for patients initiating or continuing specialty medications.

Conduct follow-up outreach, adherence assessments, and clinical interventions as part of the Specialty Pharmacy Patient Management Program.

Review and process specialty medication prior authorizations and supporting clinical documentation.

Collaborate with providers, nurses, technicians, and pharmacy staff to resolve medication access barriers and support timely therapy initiation.

Communicate patient status, therapy response, and recommendations to the healthcare team and document interventions in the electronic health record.

Maintain compliance with federal, state, payer, and accreditation (URAC/ACHC) requirements for specialty pharmacy services.
