Pharmacist (PRN)

Since 1985, Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless has dedicated its mission exclusively to providing services to people experiencing homelessness. AHCH provides a distinctive continuum of integrated care through outreach and site-based services to address the health-related causes and consequences of homelessness. Our vision is to live in a world that is just and without homelessness. We believe that homelessness is an issue that can be solved through access to quality health care, adequate and affordable housing, and a living wage.


The Pharmacist monitors and maintains the day-to-day operations of the AHCH onsite Pharmacy. This position also provides oversight to the Pharmacy team and acts as a consultant to other cross-disciplinary staff on issues relating to the pharmaceutical needs of patients.


This is a PRN position, providing coverage for employees' vacations, sick days, etc
. Availability to work as needed Monday through Friday (estimated 2-4 8hr shifts per month, up to 1-2 weeks at a time)


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Work with other disciplines toward integrative approaches to patient care in a pharmaceutical context
  • Dispense medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals according to professional standards and state and federal legal requirements
  • Ensure QI/QA and compliance in Pharmacy
  • Maintain on-going program development for Pharmacy
  • Responsible for budget management for Pharmacy
  • Provide guidance to Chief Clinical Officer on AHCH Pharmacy policies and procedures to ensure compliance to all regulations

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to thrive in a complex non-profit healthcare setting.
  • Ability to work with peers to lead change, high performance, and innovation.
  • Proven track record of effectively managing a Pharmacy.
  • Ability to have long-term strategic vision balanced with addressing day-to-day issues.
  • Be a mission-driven leader with a preference to work in a values-base, patient-centered
organization.
  • Have a strong desire to work in an integrated/cross-disciplinary team model.
  • Experience working with an EHR and/or Pharmacy software.
  • PharmD license or the ability to practice in New Mexico as a Pharmacist.
  • 2 years of experience as a licensed Pharmacist


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pharmacist Clinician license in New Mexico.
  • 4 years of experience as a licensed Pharmacist.
  • Understanding of Medicaid billing.
  • Previous experience with underserved populations, those with SMI/CMI, and substance abuse
disorders.
  • Previous experience working in a FQHC or community health organization.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English.
