Job Summary

The Pharmacy Assistant supports day-to-day pharmacy operations by assisting the pharmacist in dispensing medicines, managing stock, billing support, and patient guidance, ensuring accuracy, hygiene, and compliance with hospital standards.

Key Responsibilities Medicine Dispensing & Patient Support

• Assist in dispensing medicines as per doctor’s prescription
• Explain basic dosage, timing, and storage instructions to patients
• Ensure correct medicine name, strength, and quantity

Billing & Documentation

• Support pharmacy billing using hospital software / billing system
• Maintain cash/UPI/card transaction records
• Ensure proper invoice generation and filing

Stock & Inventory Management

• Maintain daily stock register and expiry tracking
• Inform pharmacist about low stock / near-expiry medicines
• Assist in medicine receipt, storage, and arrangement

Coordination & Compliance

• Coordinate with OPD doctors, nurses, floor coordinator, and billing desk
• Follow pharmacy SOPs, hygiene, and safety guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness and proper medicine storage conditions

Patient Experience

• Handle patients politely and patiently
• Resolve basic patient queries related to medicines
• Support smooth patient flow during OPD rush hours

Required Skills & Qualifications

• D. Pharma / B. Pharma / Pharmacy Assistant course preferred
• 12th pass with pharmacy experience may be considered
• Knowledge of medicine names, brands, and generics
• Basic computer knowledge (billing software, Excel)
• Good communication skills in Hindi (English basic preferred)

Experience

• 1–4 years in hospital / clinic pharmacy preferred
• Freshers may be considered under supervision

Working Hours

• 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
