Purpose of Job:

The Pharmacy Lead is responsible for overseeing all pharmacy-related operations to ensure smooth workflow, compliance with standards, accurate inventory management, and full medication availability through close coordination with the pharmacy vendor. The role focuses on maximizing revenue, improving patient capture and conversion rates across all branches, and supporting Lab and Radiology administrative processes as part of the overall patient journey. The Pharmacy Lead ensures operational excellence, timely reporting, and alignment across internal teams and external partners.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Planning:

· Contribute to the development and execution of pharmacy operation strategies aligned with business objectives.

· Support strategic initiatives to enhance patient capture rates, conversion, and revenue across all branches.

· Develop improvement plans for pharmacy workflow, stock management, and vendor performance.


Functional:

· Manage and monitor inventory levels, ensuring medication availability in coordination with the pharmacy vendor.

· Oversee supplier relations, reviewing availability, delivery timelines, and resolving supply-related issues.

· Conduct regular auditing of pharmacy operations, stock movements, and compliance practices.

· Ensure optimum operational flow between pharmacy, CCC teams, Lab, and Radiology.

· Prepare and submit weekly performance reports covering deliverables, KPIs, capture and conversion rates, and revenue progress.

· Drive performance to meet monthly and quarterly targets.

· Handle and resolve patient complaints related to pharmacy services in alignment with vendor protocols.

· Oversee and ensure accurate and timely submission of monthly claims.

· Identify operational gaps and recommend corrective actions to improve efficiency and patient experience.


People:

· Work cross-functionally with the Pharmacy Partner/Vendor to ensure alignment on operations, service levels, and supply.

· Collaborate closely with the on-ground IDH team to support smooth workflows of Lab/Rad Operations and resolve branch-level challenges.

· Provide on-site support to ensure proper implementation of standards and operational enhancements.


Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm)

Experience:

  • 2–3 years of experience in healthcare settings (Hospitals, Pharmacies, or Ministry of Health).
  • Experience in operational roles with cross-functional exposure is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong communication and leadership capabilities
  • Solid operational and analytical skills
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Excel and reporting
  • Strong problem-solving and coordination abilities
  • Knowledge of pharmacy operations, compliance, and claims processes

Specific Technical Requirements:

  • Ability to manage vendor relations and evaluate stock/availability
  • Understanding of claims submission cycles
  • Knowledge of pharmacy regulations and healthcare quality standards.
