Position Summary
Provides system‑wide leadership for pediatric clinical pharmacy services in alignment with Children’s Minnesota’s mission. This role is accountable for the strategic direction, clinical practice standards, and operational integration of pediatric pharmacy services in the acute care space. The leader collaborates with physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize medication outcomes, advance safety and quality, and continuously improve the care experience. The position models Children’s Minnesota values by putting kids first, owning outcomes, working together across the system, and driving innovation to reimagine pediatric medication management.

High‑Level Duties — Pharmacy Manager - Clinical

  • Provide system‑level strategic clinical leadership for pediatric pharmacy services, ensuring consistent, high‑quality medication management across care settings
  • Lead, develop, and support clinical pharmacists, specialists, residents, students, and leaders, promoting professional growth, engagement, and workforce sustainability
  • Establish and maintain pediatric clinical pharmacy practice standards that align with evidence‑based practice, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies
  • Serve as a pediatric pharmacotherapy expert, supporting complex and high‑risk patient populations and specialty service lines.
  • Oversee and coordinate clinical pharmacy services to ensure alignment with operational workflows, informatics solutions, and supply chain strategies.
  • Lead or actively participate in pharmacy and therapeutics, formulary management, medication safety, and drug shortage mitigation efforts with a pediatric focus
  • Drive quality improvement, innovation, and research initiatives that advance medication safety, clinical outcomes, and value‑based care
  • Partner with multidisciplinary clinical, operational, and executive leaders to support system priorities related to quality, safety, patient experience, team member experience, and financial stewardship
  • Represent pediatric clinical pharmacy in enterprise committees, strategic planning, and system‑wide initiatives.

  • Graduate from a college/school of Pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) OR graduate from a foreign college of pharmacy that has at least a five-year curriculum and has passed the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination (FPGEE) and become certified by the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Commission (FPGEC), required.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited institution, preferred.
  • Pharmacist Licensure in the state of Minnesota current or within three months of hire, required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification current or within three months of hire, required.
  • Three years' experience practicing as a pharmacist in a health-system, specifically in the area of planned oversight (e.g., hospital, retail, home infusion, ambulatory). This qualification is waived for completion of a pharmacy administrative practice residency. Completion of an accredited PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency in pediatrics preferred
  • Must be able to fulfill management competencies.
  • Advanced degree in a managerial, administrative, or business field (e.g. MS, MBA), preferred.
  • Advanced administrative training such as a pharmacy residency focused on leadership, preferred.
  • Managerial, administrative and business skills, preferred.
  • Experience with pharmacy-related project planning and implementation, preferred.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employee’s scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.

In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
