Pharmacy Scheduling Specialist - 153161

Description & Requirements

The Pharmacy Scheduling Specialist works closely with the Pharmacy Authorization Team, Medication Access Team, Infusion Pharmacist Team, Infusion Center employees, Home Infusion Department and referring clinic providers. This remote position is primarily responsible for coordinating the scheduling of patients at all system infusion sites, as well as home infusion clinics and at home infusion care. This position requires enhanced knowledge of specific disease states and specialty infusion drugs to maximize revenue capture for high-cost medications. The Pharmacy Scheduling Specialist works autonomously and proficiently and provides communication necessary to help guide the provider, clinic staff, and patient. The Pharmacy Scheduling Specialist also participates in other duties as assigned related to the day-to-day operations within the department.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Work Experience: Minimum one (1) year in health care related scheduling, authorization, billing, or registration. Or three (3) years of customer service or administrative work.
  • Preferred: EPIC experience

Pharmacy Scheduling Specialist Expectations

  • Be available for On Call holiday rotation. The team will have one team member who is on call for holidays that land Monday-Friday. This is done on a voluntary basis and if there are no volunteers then it is assigned. It is expected that each team member will be available to work on call on holiday per year.
  • Minimal distractions while working remotely from home. If you cannot have a dedicated workspace that is distraction free, please notify your leader. Your working area should not be a shared space that family, friends or children are often in due to PHI and HIPPA.
  • Make outgoing and receive incoming calls, while performing daily duties and tasks.
  • Childcare: Children cannot be solely cared for by the employee during working hours and must have an individual to care for them.
  • Training is 6-8 weeks full time (35-40 hours per week) on sight. If training is completed after 8 weeks, then the individual will be able to go fully remote with check-ins. If the individual cannot meet expectations once remote, they may be asked to come on site for additional training.
  • During working hours (lunch excluded) it is expected the team members will not use their laptop for non-work-related items i.e. schoolwork.
  • Each team member will come in for an annual in-person check-in and may be required to come in person for additional days depending on performance and productivity.
  • Team members are expected to meet productivity expectations, with minimal exceptions.
