Pharmacy Service Associate

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting pharmacists in the medication administration process, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care. This position is well-suited for individuals with experience in hospital settings, particularly those familiar with acute care and critical care environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with prescriptions.
• Provide patient care by answering questions regarding medications and their administration, including inhaled medications and IV infusions.
• Maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, ensuring that stock levels are adequate for patient needs.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient service and optimal medication management.
• Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with team members and document patient information accurately.
• Support the pharmacy team in maintaining a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician or in a similar role within a hospital or acute care setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of medication administration processes, including IV infusion techniques and inhaled medications.
• Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to pharmacy operations and patient care.
• Strong communication skills with an emphasis on patient service and teamwork.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
