Responsibilities

  • Prepare and dispense medications accurately under pharmacist supervision, including IV infusion preparations for critical care patients.
  • Manage medication intake processes, verifying prescriptions, and ensuring proper documentation aligned with medical terminology standards.
  • Assist with medication administration tasks within hospital or acute care settings, supporting patient care teams effectively.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques during sterile compounding procedures to ensure patient safety and compliance with health regulations.
  • Support patient service initiatives by providing clear medication information and addressing basic inquiries with professionalism and compassion.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate medication orders, inventory management, and proper storage of pharmaceuticals.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols related to LTC pharmacy operations, critical care procedures, and hospital policies.

Experience

  • Previous pharmacy technician experience in LTC pharmacy or hospital environments is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration processes, and aseptic technique practices.
  • Experience working within acute care or critical care units enhances your ability to thrive in fast-paced healthcare settings.
  • Familiarity with IV infusion preparation and sterile compounding is advantageous.
  • Strong patient service skills with a focus on delivering compassionate care while supporting pharmacy operations.
