Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques for sterile compounding
  • Manage medication intake processes, verifying prescriptions, and ensuring proper documentation in accordance with medical terminology standards
  • Assist with medication administration tasks within hospital or acute care settings, supporting patient care teams with timely drug delivery
  • Maintain inventory levels of pharmaceuticals, ensuring proper storage conditions and adherence to safety protocols for LTC pharmacy and hospital environments
  • Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, clarifying medication instructions, and supporting patient care initiatives
  • Follow strict aseptic techniques during sterile compounding procedures to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy plans and ensure compliance with regulatory standards

Experience

  • Prior pharmacy technician experience in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings is highly preferred
  • Critical care experience is a strong asset, demonstrating ability to handle complex medication regimens in fast-paced environments
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration processes, and aseptic techniques essential for success in this role
  • Experience with IV infusion preparation and handling medications within acute care or hospital settings is desirable
  • Familiarity with intake procedures, medication safety protocols, and pharmacy operations related to medical terminology and acute care practices
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient service excellence and supporting healthcare teams in delivering high-quality care

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
