Pharmacy Technician

Trio Pharmacy Services is a closed-door pharmacy that specializes in serving Long-Term Care Communities. We are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of facility staff, administrators, and most importantly, the residents and patients we serve. We are currently seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to help manage and oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy team.

Position Summary:
Pharmacy Technician will help supervise and guide a team of pharmacy technicians to ensure the efficient and accurate preparation and dispensing of medication orders. The ideal candidate will have managerial experience, be able to manage multiple tasks, and possess strong communication and leadership skills. This position requires a technician who is detail-oriented, dependable, and can work well under pressure while maintaining a focus on patient safety and quality care. Long-term care billing knowledge would be beneficial to this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help manage and mentor a team of pharmacy technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high standards of performance and compliance.
  • Coordinate daily pharmacy operations, including medication order preparation, packaging, and dispensing, to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of patient prescriptions.
  • Assist in managing workflow and prioritizing tasks to ensure the pharmacy operates efficiently and meets all service goals.
  • Oversee and ensure that all pharmacy technicians adhere to safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Monitor and ensure that all medication orders are processed with accuracy and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide leadership to the team by promoting a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork, and fostering professional development.
  • Assist in non-sterile compounding and basic preparation as necessary.
  • Work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and safety.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and ensure that sensitive data is handled securely.
  • Ensure that all pharmacy documentation, records, and reports are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a pharmacy technician, with a strong background in leadership or supervisory roles.
  • Knowledge of long-term care pharmacy operations and medication management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
