Pharmacy Technician

Hometown Pharmacy is looking for a dependable and customer-focused Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacists in delivering high-quality care to our community. Whether you’re experienced or looking to grow your career in pharmacy, we provide hands-on training and a supportive team environment.

What You’ll Do

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in both patient experience and pharmacy operations:

  • Provide exceptional customer service—greet and assist patients in person and over the phone

  • Accurately enter patient information and prescription orders into the system

  • Prepare prescriptions by counting, labeling, and packaging medications

  • Process and submit insurance claims; assist with troubleshooting billing issues

  • Support inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and organizing medications and supplies

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy environment

  • Collaborate with pharmacists and team members to support patient care services

  • Build relationships with regular patients and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere

  • Develop knowledge of medications, including brand/generic names and common uses

  • Assist with over-the-counter products and basic register functions as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (required)

  • Previous pharmacy experience or technician training (preferred, but not required)

Work Expectations

  • Adhere to all company policies, professional standards, and confidentiality requirements (including HIPAA)

  • Maintain ethical and compliant pharmacy practices

  • Complete all required training and continuing education

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
