Pharmacy Technician

Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist the pharmacist in daily operations, ensure accuracy in prescription processing, and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.

Responsibilities

Assist the pharmacist in processing and filling prescriptions accurately
Enter electronic prescriptions and maintain an organized workflow
Handle prescription data entry, insurance processing, and prior authorizations
Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and returning medications
Maintain proper storage conditions and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations
Assist with customer service, including answering phone calls and assisting patients at pickup/drop-off
Process cash register transactions and maintain accurate records
Ensure all prescriptions are prepared, labeled, and ready for pickup in a timely manner
Follow all HIPAA and company policies and procedures

Experience

Prior pharmacy technician experience in a retail setting/independent pharmacy
Prior experience in PrimeRX/Micromerchant
Seeking someone that is adaptable, fast learner, quick on their feet, shows urgency, and is able to multitask
Strong patient service skills with a focus on patient care and communication excellence
Certification as a pharmacy technician (e.g., PTCB or equivalent) is required or strongly preferred

Qualifications

Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
Must be registered or eligible to register as a Pharmacy Technician in New Jersey
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Basic computer proficiency (experience with pharmacy software is a plus)
Experience with pharmacy systems such as PrimeRx or similar
Knowledge of insurance billing and rejection troubleshooting
Bilingual is a plus

Work Schedule
