Pharmacy Technician

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy operations, ensuring high standards of patient care and medication management. This position requires a strong commitment to patient service, medical terminology knowledge, and proficiency in aseptic techniques. Experience in LTC pharmacy, critical care, or hospital settings is highly desirable.

Duties

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients in accordance with established protocols.
• Perform medication intake and review prescriptions for accuracy and completeness.
• Provide patient care by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications.
• Administer IV infusions and ensure proper aseptic technique is followed during preparation.
• Maintain accurate records of medication administration and inventory management.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes in acute care settings.
• Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with patients and staff.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and safety protocols within the pharmacy.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is required; experience in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and critical care practices is essential.
• Strong skills in patient service and patient care, with a focus on enhancing the patient experience.
• Familiarity with IV infusion processes and aseptic technique is highly beneficial.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
