Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including compounding and labeling medications accurately.
  • Manage medication inventory, including stock replenishment and proper storage procedures.
  • Support patient intake processes by verifying prescriptions and clarifying medication orders.
  • Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, explaining medication instructions, and supporting medication adherence efforts.
  • Maintain detailed records of medication administration, inventory logs, and patient interactions in compliance with hospital policies.
  • Follow all safety standards related to aseptic technique, critical care procedures, and hospital protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

  • Proven pharmacy technician experience with knowledge of medical terminology and medication management.
  • Prior experience working in a specialty infusion pharmacy, hospital, chronic care or acute care settings preferred.
  • Critical care experience or familiarity with ICU protocols is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of IV infusion techniques and aseptic procedures required for sterile compounding.
  • Excellent patient service skills with a focus on patient care and communication.
  • Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Certification as a pharmacy technician or equivalent credential is preferred; ongoing education in pharmacy practice is a plus. Pay: $18.50 - $25.50 per hour
