Pharmacy Technician

Description:
ABOUT THE ROLE
  • Under the direction of the Pharmacists, will provide assistance with medication preparation, medication distribution, packaging and filling, and inventory control.
  • This position is designed to engage and interact with co-colleagues and customers, and to assist with the telephone calls and patients and staff picking up medications at the pharmacy window.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications
  • Receive and process electronic prescription orders
  • Package, label, and organize medications accurately
  • Maintain patient profiles and prescription records in pharmacy systems
  • Manage inventory, stock shelves, and monitor medication expiration dates
  • Provide excellent customer service and answer basic medication-related questions under pharmacist supervision
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, pharmacy laws, and safety standards
  • Support pharmacists with administrative and operational duties as needed
MINIIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and 1 year of pharmacy technician services experience
  • Must be certified or certified eligible with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). A Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is preferred.
  • Must have proficient computer and data entry experience.
  • Experience with Parata equipment is preferred
  • Act 33/34/73 Clearances
  • Pre-employment drug screen
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS/BENEFITS:
Work Schedule: This is a Non-Exempt (hourly) position. 37.5 Hours per week- Monday through Friday during traditional business hours. Hours may fluctuate at the Directors discretion.
