Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques for sterile compounding.
• Assist with medication intake, medication administration, and patient consultations to ensure proper usage and adherence.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including restocking supplies, verifying stock levels, and ensuring proper storage of medications.
• Support patient care by providing excellent service, answering medication-related questions, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers.
• Maintain precise documentation of medication dispensing, patient records, and pharmacy logs in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Follow all safety protocols related to aseptic technique, critical care procedures, and hospital pharmacy practices to uphold patient safety.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care settings such as LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacies or hospital environments to optimize medication therapy.

Requirements

• Proven pharmacy technician experience with a strong understanding of medical terminology, medication preparation, and pharmacy operations.
• Prior experience working in LTC pharmacy, hospital settings, or critical care environments is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of IV infusion procedures, aseptic techniques, and medication administration protocols.
• Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining accuracy and compliance with safety standards.
• Certification as a pharmacy technician (e.g., PTCB or equivalent) is required; ongoing education in acute care or hospital pharmacy practices is a plus.

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
