Green River Medical Center Pharmacy is seeking a motivated and dependable Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee to join our team at our Remote Dispensing Pharmacy in Green River, Utah.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, works well in a team environment, and is interested in a rewarding healthcare career. No prior pharmacy experience is required — we are willing to train the right candidate and assist with obtaining a Utah Pharmacy Technician Trainee license.

Because this is a Remote Dispensing Pharmacy operating under Utah pharmacy regulations, applicants must be dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while maintaining strict compliance with all pharmacy laws, policies, and procedures.

Position Details

  • Full-Time preferred (Part-Time may be considered)
  • Monday–Friday daytime schedule
  • Pay Range: $19-$26 based on experience and licensure,

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with Utah pharmacy laws and regulations governing Remote Dispensing Pharmacies, duties may include:

  • Assisting pharmacists with prescription processing and daily pharmacy operations
  • Providing exceptional customer service to patients in person and over the phone
  • Entering and maintaining accurate patient and prescription information
  • Managing insurance billing and prescription claims
  • Communicating with providers’ offices regarding prescription clarification and refill requests
  • Preparing, packaging, and dispensing prescriptions under pharmacist supervision
  • Maintaining inventory and processing wholesale medication orders
  • Reconciling invoices and assisting with pharmacy recordkeeping
  • Operating pharmacy software systems, including PioneerRx
  • Maintaining pharmacy cleanliness and compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Performing filing, deposits, and other operational tasks as assigned
  • Supporting patient care initiatives and workflow efficiency

Technician Trainee Requirements & Expectations

Candidates hired without current pharmacy technician licensure will be expected to:

  • Obtain and maintain a Utah Pharmacy Technician Trainee license
  • Successfully complete all required technician education and training
  • Complete a minimum of approximately 500 hours of hands-on pharmacy training, which will require travel to other pharmacy locations for portions of training
  • Progress toward national certification and/or Utah Pharmacy Technician licensure
  • Learn and comply with all applicable federal laws, Utah Pharmacy Practice Act requirements, and Remote Dispensing Pharmacy regulations
  • Follow pharmacy procedures, policies, and pharmacist instructions exactly as directed
  • Demonstrate accountability, professionalism, and reliability in daily duties
  • Maintain strict attention to detail and accuracy
  • Be self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a healthcare team
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Adapt to changing workflows and priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Dependable attendance and professionalism
  • Ability to work independently in a rural healthcare environment
  • Willingness to learn and accept coaching and direction
  • Pharmacy experience preferred but not required
