Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• Must have a Pharmacy Technician license for the State of California
• Must be able to operate a typewriter, adding machine and computer
• Needs to know all generic and brand names of drugs and common doses for charging
• Needs to know how all I.V.’s are made for proper charging
• Must have knowledge of drugs, quantities normally dispensed, generic equivalents, etc
• One year experience preferred

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician fills floor stock, refills Automated Dispensing Cabinet and, working with the Pharmacist, fills orders from patient profiles.

Duties

• Works with the Pharmacist filling cubicles to and from nurses’ station
• Checks and fills floor stock items at hospital stations, which includes refilling Pyxis and assisting in discrepancy resolutions
• Fills orders for Schedule II drugs and other floor stock, narcotics for Pharmacist to approve
• Assists with inventory control: takes stock counts for re-order and checks stock for expiration dates
• Operates unit dose packaging equipment
• Performs all duties of a Pharmacy Clerk
• Performs other duties as assigned

Lifting Requirements: Medium - generally lifting not more than 50 Ibs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 Ibs.
