Pharmacy Technicians assist with preparation and distribution of medications. Pharmacy Technicians are eligible for advanced technician positions based upon job performance and successful completion of requirements for advancement established in the Pharmacy Technician Career Ladder criteria grids.

WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital serves as the cornerstone of care for a total population of nearly 142,000 residents living in the rural and urban mix of Lebanon County. A full-service, acute-care hospital, with a 163 licensed bed capacity, admitting approximately 7,000 patients annually. We offer open heart procedures, comprehensive cardiac care, total joint replacements, private labor and delivery birthing suites, robotic surgery, and emergency care.
Essential Functions:
- Pursuant to the needs and offerings of the hiring department, essential job accountabilities may include the following:
- Receives and stocks deliveries of pharmaceuticals and other supplies
- Prepares, packages, and labels medications prior to dispensing.
- Delivers medications to care areas within the hospital.
- Delivers medications to off-site locations.
- Manages pharmacy inventory management, including use of electronic inventory management systems.
- Monitors product expirations and removes outdated stock from inventory.
- Responds to product recalls.
- Compounds non-sterile and sterile medication preparations.
- Cleans and disinfects procedures.
- Performs clerical duties such as answering telephones and maintaining adequate supplies.

- Reasonable flexibility for occasional work outside of normally scheduled shifts based on the needs of the pharmacy department and the hospital.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
Work Experience:
Driver's License Statement:
Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.
