Shift Detail: Primary need is for day shift, 6a-230p or 7a-330p, with additional coverage needs available for evenings, 2p-1030p .

The Pharmacy Department at The Hospital of Central Connecticut utilizes a decentralized model with pharmacists embedded on medical teams to advice on optimal drug therapy. Under the supervision and direction of the Pharmacist, our Pharmacy Technicians assists in performing pharmaceutical functions which include unit dose dispensing, compound preparation, and other related procedures that require knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology. There is opportunity to specialize in sterile compounding, control substance handling, or obtaining medication histories in our Emergency Department.

Qualifications

Experience:

Exemplary customer service and communication skills.
Prior experience as pharmacy technician experience preferred.
Prior experience in a sterile compounding environment is preferred.

Education:

High School Diploma required or equivalent.
Completion of Pharmacy Technician program in preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

Current National Pharmacy Technician Certification is strongly preferred.
Pharmacy registration with Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection within 30 days of hire and by March 31st of each year.
