We are seeking a patient-centered and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our team. Previous phlebotomy experience is preferred and EPIC experience is a plus.

Position Details:

Full-Time: 40 hours/week

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited phlebotomy program

Current National Phlebotomy Certification required

One year of phlebotomy experience (outpatient clinic experience preferred)

BLS certification required

Key Responsibilities:

Provide professional, courteous communication with patients, families, and clinical staff.
Address patient questions or concerns regarding specimen collection while minimizing fear and anxiety.
Demonstrate proficiency in phlebotomy and specimen collection techniques, including throat/nasal swabs, appropriate to patient age.
Instruct patients on proper collection for urine, stool, and sputum specimens, including any special testing instructions.
Respond promptly to STAT draws and perform point-of-care testing as needed.
Follow all laboratory procedures for patient identification and specimen labeling, using double identifiers for accuracy.
Maintain working knowledge of laboratory computer systems, including report retrieval and specimen inquiries.
