The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at The Aga Khan University is a dynamic academic center that serves the diagnostic needs of the country through its extensive clinical laboratory services network across Pakistan. AKUH’s Clinical Laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and provides services through its tertiary care laboratory at the main campus, more than 300 specimen collection units, and multiple Stat and Phlebotomy Centers nationwide.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine comprises five major sections: Chemical Pathology, Hematology & Transfusion Medicine, Histopathology, Microbiology, and Molecular Pathology. Each section is academically driven and actively involved in research, undergraduate and postgraduate education, and training.
