Responsibilities

  • Collect blood samples through venipuncture and skin puncture techniques, ensuring patient comfort and safety
  • Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing, following proper protocols and aseptic techniques
  • Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with precision
  • Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures, including patient examinations and sample collection
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment adhering to infection control standards and laboratory procedures
  • Document patient information, test results, and procedural details clearly in medical records
  • Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring a compassionate experience

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and specimen handling protocols
  • Hands-on experience with venipuncture (blood sampling), blood processing, and phlebotomy best practices
  • Familiarity with clinical laboratory operations and hospital environments
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology fundamentals
  • Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately while demonstrating excellent patient care skills
  • Understanding of aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during specimen collection and processing
  • Effective communication skills to interact confidently with patients and healthcare team members
