Phlebotomy Instructor

Job Summary:

The Phlebotomy Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality theoretical and practical training in phlebotomy techniques. The role focuses on equipping students with the knowledge, technical skills, and professional standards required for safe and effective blood collection and handling in healthcare settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver classroom lectures and hands-on training in phlebotomy procedures
  • Demonstrate proper techniques for venipuncture, capillary sampling, and specimen handling
  • Develop lesson plans, training materials, and practical assessments in line with curriculum standards
  • Evaluate student performance through written tests and practical examinations
  • Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and hygiene protocols during training
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and student progress
  • Provide mentorship and academic support to students
  • Coordinate with academic and administrative teams for smooth program delivery
  • Stay updated with advancements in phlebotomy practices and healthcare standards
  • Assist in organizing workshops, lab sessions, and clinical exposure opportunities

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Nursing, or a related healthcare field
  • Certification in Phlebotomy (preferred)
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant clinical or teaching experience
  • Strong knowledge of blood collection techniques, safety standards, and patient care
  • Prior teaching or training experience will be an added advantage
