Phlebotomy Technician

Hours: 12-hour shifts

Location: Providence Medical Center – Kansas City, KS

We are seeking a detail-oriented Phlebotomy Technician to join our healthcare team. As a Phlebotomy Technician, you will be responsible for drawing blood samples and ensuring their quality for laboratory testing. Your role is crucial in assisting physicians with accurate diagnostics and patient care. • Prepare patients for blood draws, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the process
• Responsible for correct blood collection, draw blood from patients using venipuncture, capillary puncture, or other techniques; ensure proper identification and labeling of specimens
• Organize, handle, and transport specimens to the laboratory for testing, ensure all specimens are properly processed and stored
• Adhere to quality control and safety protocols to maintain the integrity of specimens and ensure accurate test results
• Maintain and calibrate phlebotomy equipment and supplies, ensure everything is in working order and properly sanitized
• Perform more complex or specialized phlebotomy procedures as required, often with minimal supervision

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained current

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience
