Phlebotomy Technician

Job Overview
Pharmacy and PRP company are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomy Technician to blood draw and make PRP Eye drops at Patients home. Assist with miscellanious responsibilities in the pharmacy. The ideal candidate will be responsible driving to Patient home with company provided vehicle for performing blood collection and specimen processing with professionalism and precision. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, patient care, and anatomy, ensuring accurate and safe specimen collection to support diagnostic testing and patient health. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment, contributing to quality patient care and laboratory operations.

Duties

  • Visit Patient home, Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture and skin puncture techniques, adhering to proper aseptic procedures.
  • Prepare specimens for PRP Eye Drops, using centrifuge machine ensuring specimen integrity during processing in droplet bottles.
  • Able to pick up load and unload a 30-pound centrifuge to take to Patient home
  • Maintain strict adherence to laboratory protocols, including proper specimen handling, storage, and transportation.
  • Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring a comfortable experience.
  • Follow infection control practices and maintain a sterile environment using aseptic techniques throughout all procedures.
  • Document all procedures accurately in accordance with hospital, Pharmacy and laboratory policies.
  • Assist in inventory management of supplies related to phlebotomy procedures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely processing of specimens for diagnostic purposes.
  • Answer and Make calls when not performing PRP responsibilities.
  • Reconciliation when not performing PRP responsibilities.

Experience

  • Existing experience in a clinical laboratory setting or hospital environment is required.
  • Knowledge of laboratory techniques including venipuncture, specimen processing, and handling biological specimens.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and the principles of patient care related to blood collection.
  • Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician or equivalent credential is required. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach toward patients. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in laboratory procedures and a solid understanding of clinical practices related to blood sampling and specimen management.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
